Dwight and Donna on their way to visit the ruins at Petra, Jordan.

I remember sharing several meals with Dwight and Donna on our tours together-what a blessing. He always greeted me with his famous smile, and his positive attitude and willingness to share of himself impressed me every day. I will certainly miss my friend Dwight.

Years ago my family stayed with the Allens and they had to take us to Little Rock AFB AR as our youngest had an emergency problem with her foot. A year or so later, I visited Dwight and preached in his church. I always sent him Bibles and some (copies) of our (Messianic Perspective) papers as he was always going to visit folks in the different hospitals.

My wife and I had the privilege of sharing a table with Dwight at several CJF Ministry Board (of Directors) meetings. Dwight went out of his way to make me feel welcome when I was new to the Board. He would share stories of his church meeting in a funeral home. Gloria and I were most blessed by his sense of humor. We remember with great delight, the lighted hat that he wore at the Rainforest Cafe. We lost a smile, but Heaven gained one.

John Turner, Pastoral Care/Prison Ministry

Dwight was very quiet and low key, but he had a terrific sense of humor. And he was very patriotic-he had small flags flying all around their front yard. There was no mistakening that he was proud to be an American! And he was very supportive of Dr. Halff, and now Gary, and the ministry as a whole. He loved the Jewish people and almost always wore a kippa (to help cover his balding head?) No, it was to show his support and love.
