Summer 2011

Shalom and greetings in our Messiah:

I have been visiting churches all over our great country for nearly 30 years, and these visits bring with them some of the most rewarding moments in my ministry. Recently, I met a young, newly saved woman who blessed me with an opportunity for discipleship. Perhaps nearest to my heart to leading a Jewish person to their Messiah, is the privilege in helping them grow in Him!

This discipleship opportunity is sometimes by phone and other times at my home. Like most newly saved Jewish people, she has many questions. These questions include the feast days—something familiar to every Jewish person—only this time the bridge is drawn from the months to the Messiah. Each monthly festival points to Him, and this portion of our discipleship has been a wonderful eye opener for her—only confirming how He is the One.

These feast days are not only for her benefit, but the benefit of all believers. Paul frequently mentioned them to the Corinthian and Colossian Christians, who were mostly gentile. The lessons have proven invaluable not only for the growth of many Jewish believers, but also many gentiles because Christianity is Jewish—which most of you know from my visits to your church.

At my grandson’s church, I recently had the opportunity to play the role of a rabbi in a synagogue for his Vacation Bible School. My daughter organized, “Nazareth in the time of Christ,” and they went to great lengths in creating an atmosphere as close to what Nazareth may have been like in the time of our Lord. The children entered the synagogue, and like any rabbi, I began by questioning them about the Carpenter who performed miraculous works!

The rabbi plays the part of a nonbeliever who asks these children questions, and wants to know why they believe. I asked and asked, and these children would respond, “He is the Son of God.” Their faith was simple and yet solid in their response to me.

Their convincing responses resulted in my coming to faith! The children led the rabbi. As I ministered to these children, I left them a challenge and a conviction. The challenge was to always pray that the Jewish people would come to repentance and faith. The conviction was that God’s word says He wants them to fulfill this challenge!

Please Pray For . . .

  • The Gospel, that it would first spread rapidly and be glorified in the hearts of “the lost sheep of the house of Israel,” and also for the salvation of the gentiles with whom I share the Gospel message.
  • Sarah, a person willing to listen but not ready to respond.
  • The young, newly saved Jewish girl.
  • A missionary friend who is struggling both physically and spiritually.
  • A continuation in my financial support during these difficult times.
  • A receptive response from the many churches my wife, Sandie, and I call.
  • The Lord’s grace in giving me good health so I can continue to serve Him and you.
  • An autistic child.

Our Appreciation

We are so grateful to you for being such a crucial part of the Lord’s work through us. Without your prayers and financial support, we would be unable to continue and survive as the Lord’s ambassadors to the Jewish people. Thank you for your commitment to our ministry.

In Messiah’s love and ours,

Michael and Sandra Campo
