Ten Bees in the Land of Honey

When God promised “a land flowing with honey,” I wonder if the people thought that description all the way through? (Read Deuteronomy 6:3.)

The way I see it, where there is honey, there are also bees.

If God gave me a land flowing with honey, as much as I like honey, I would probably be harvesting the bee colonies often.

Here are ten “bees” that I would welcome as I collected my honey:

1. Be careful.  That goes almost without saying.

2. Be focused.  Distraction is the door to disaster.

3. Be clothed!  I would be wearing protective gear from head to toe.

4. Be fast.  I would take as little time as possible to get this job done.

5. Be wise.  I would find out the best way to harvest honey and implement it.

6. Be assisted.  I would not do this alone.  If I’m going to get stung, I don’t want to get stung alone!

7. Be prepared.  I would have a First Aid kit nearby.

8. Be prayerful.  I would definitely be praying…. with my eyes wide open!

9. Be hungry!  I would be ready to put some of this honey on a few hot homemade biscuits!

And of course….

10. Be thankful!  Truly, through God’s gift of the Messiah, we are blessed.  We have every reason to be thankful.

To bee or not to bee, that is the question.
