The world is in crisis.  Your own world may be in crisis, too. Turmoil #2 Today's pastoral care devotional scripture is Luke 10:5. What are we to do?  Begin by speaking peace.  That's what Yeshua did when in a storm. The answer to any crisis is peace.  Believe that peace is on the way and talk like it. True peace only comes through the Prince of Peace, Yeshua. More information about His peace is available by clicking here. Photo courtesy of Dave Pearson.

What are you dreading? mar 30 Today's pastoral care devotional scripture is Genesis 33:1-9. We all have things on our schedule that we are not looking forward to.  Things we are dreading.  Things we are fearing. We may be fearing a doctor's appointment, a job appraisal, an estimate from a plumber, a visit from the in-laws, etc. Jacob, in today's scripture, is fearing a visit from his brother.  The last time they were together, Esau was set on killing Jacob. So... Jacob is filled with fear. But as you read this story, his fear was not necessary.  Things did not turn out as he thought they world. Life, in many ways, is a lot like that.  Things we fear the most either do not happen or they are not as bad as we thought they would be.  There are exceptions, but they are usually not the rule. Today you be filled with fear as you anticipate something on your schedule.  Why not give faith a chance?  Why not believe that God is with you and that you can do all things through Christ? Instead of giving in to your fears, let faith be your anchor today. It's Monday.  Don't be afraid of this new work week.  Launch out into it with confidence. Photo courtesy of  romana klee.

Do you ever run away from problems in life? Jogging on the snow Today's pastoral care devotional scripture is Genesis 32:24-32. The life of Jacob was filled with being involved in problem situations and then running from them.  But this all changed when he had a wrestling match with God. God touched Jacob's thigh and as a result Jacob limped the rest of his life. God put an end to Jacob's running. What are you running from today?  God knows how to stop the running.  But hopefully, we will just slow down on our own. Photo courtesy of Daniele Zanni.
